Kumho Tire

From its humble beginnings in the 60s, this tire company based in Gwangju, South Korea has slowly and steadily climbed to become one of the top 10 tire manufacturers in the world. At the time it was launched, Kumho’s daily tire production capacity was not more than 20 tires and that depended on whether or not they could manage to get the necessary manual labor. The technology was still backward then and the facilities lacking. All of this changed in the late 60s when the company acquired KS Mark and they shipped to East Asia for the very first time.

Today Kumho produces 36 million tires a year and has more than 150 sales offices around the world. They are also one of the 6 official tire suppliers for the Formula 3 Racing Competitions held around the world.

Kumho does not see itself as ‘just another tire company”. Instead, it believes that providing quality, safety and value for their customers deserve the same importance as innovative design and technology.
